Georgia Pearce – Swim Instructor
Georgia joins the Tenerife Swim team in our launch year of 2019.
Born in Swindon in the south-west of England, Georgia is part of a very sporty family. Both of her brothers swam competitively and by the age of 7, Georgia herself was competing regularly in county, regional and national events. Swimming literally became her life as she was training 9 – 10 times per week.
After having sustained a serious injury in her teens, Georgia found she could no longer maintain this intense level of training and so turned to teaching instead. Over the years, she has built up a wide-range of experience, including 1-on-1 private lessons for adults, baby and child group lessons as well as teaching people with special needs and disabilities including Downs Syndrome, autism and hearing impairments. She has also worked with triathletes and specialised in open water swims.
Employed as a swimming teacher by the UK Swim Academy and UK Swim Safe, Georgia holds the ASA Award in Teaching Aquatics Levels 1 and 2, and the STA baby and pre-school swim teachers award as well as a current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Georgia can think of nothing more rewarding than teaching swimming. She loves how it gives her the opportunity to meet people of all ages and from all walks of life. Seeing her students learning such an important, potentially life-saving skill whilst having fun and genuinely enjoying being in the water is the thing she loves the best.
